Your booking

A booking is confirmed the moment your payment goes through, and we email you the confirmation straight away. Until you pay, it is a request and nothing is charged. That is true whether you book on the site or on WhatsApp; the payment link in the thread is the same checkout.

The price

The price you are quoted is fixed when your booking is confirmed. It does not change with the time of day, the date, traffic or a late flight. Conversions to euros, pounds and dollars on the site are approximate; you pay in rand.

Waiting

We track your flight and time your driver to your actual landing. Waiting is free for up to 60 minutes after you land. After that the driver messages and calls you. If we cannot reach you within another 30 minutes, the booking counts as a no-show. For a pickup that is not from a flight, the driver waits 15 minutes past the booked time, and then the same applies.

Who runs the ride

Papaya arranges your ride with a licensed transport operator in Cape Town, and the operator’s driver carries it out. The ride is the operator’s responsibility: the vehicle, the driver, the operating licence and the insurance are the operator’s. Papaya takes the booking and the payment. If something goes wrong on the road, message us and we take it up with the operator for you.

Cancelling

Free until 24 hours before your pickup. The cancellation and refunds page has the rest.

Papaya Travel is a trading name of ShuttleSync (Pty) Ltd, registration number 2026/541651/07. These terms are between you and ShuttleSync (Pty) Ltd, registered in South Africa, and South African law applies to them.
